Nesting boxes and bird houses can provide important shelter for wild birds in lots of different locations, but why is it necessary? Due to advanced building development and other factors, there are fewer natural nesting opportunities available. By putting up nest boxes, you can help birds find that all-important place to raise their young.

Even if the nesting season does not begin until Spring, there are many advantages to hanging new nest boxes in Autumn. The garden birds can get to know and explore the nesting opportunity at an early stage – this increases the chance of a successful brood. In addition, nesting boxes serve birds and small mammals as a shelter and sleeping place in the cold winter. Why not take part in National Nest Box Week?
