EXCLUSIVE TO CJ WILDLIFE CUSTOMERS
Red Mason Bees (Osmia rufa) hugely beneficial to our gardens and crops as they are excellent pollinators of fruit trees, raspberries, strawberries and vegetables and are fond of a wide range of flowers and tree blossom.
Our trials with Red Mason Bees in cherry and apple orchards have shown superb results. The quality of the fruit is greatly enhanced and you need relatively few Red Mason Bees to achieve these results compared to other bees.
These friendly solitary bees thrive in domestic gardens too and due to their docile nature they are safe around children and pets as they virtually never sting.
In addition to introducing Red Mason Bees to your garden, positioning bee nests and planting nectar rich flowers is also likely to attract other solitary bees. With all the additional insect activity not only will you see your garden blossom this summer but you will also be helping to stem the decline in native British bees.
Note: Red Mason Bee Cocoons are now available to purchase and are despatched with full siting and care instructions. Due to the bees' natural life cycle there is a limited window of opportunity to purchase Red Mason Bee Cocoons. However due to a late spring this year, cocoons are likely to be on sale until late-may (subject to stock availability).
